At Booth Library In May

Carol Gibson will be presenting an exhibition of her “re-created photographs” and Art Anderson will show his latest lands cape photography in the Olga Knoepke Memorial Room at C.H. Booth Library from Monday, May 9, until Friday, May 27.

A public reception for the exhibition is planned for Sunday, May 15, from 2 to 4 pm.

A lifelong passion for photography combined with strong computer skills have made Mrs Gibson an award-winning photographic designer. She uses Photoshop and other computer programs to re-work photographs, adding and/or removing different aspects of a photo, creating new images.

She is primarily self-taught on cameras and computers.

A native of Ridgefield, Mrs Gibson now lives in Bethel with her husband of 35 years. She is an executive assistant for a relocation company.

Mrs Gibson is a member of the National Association of Photoshop Professionals and the program coordinator for Candlewood Camera Club.

Mr Anderson grew up in New York’s majestic Hudson River Valley, and was influenced by his father – an artist, illustrator and photographer. He began his photographic studies at the German School of Photography in New York City.

After an early career shooting weddings, portraits and aerial photography, Mr Anderson gained valuable digital experience when he began creating industrial photography of medical device products. Presently he is visually preserving the rustic and rural hills, farmlands and old barns of New England.

C.H. Booth Library is at 25 Main Street in Newtown; telephone 426-4533.
