NHS Lists Scholarships

Information and applications for the following scholarships is available at the Career Center at Newtown High School.

Connecticut Student Loan Foundation — This organization will award 20 students with scholarships of $1,000 each. The program is open to all high school seniors and first year college students who will attend an accredited college or trade school in the 2005-2006 academic year. Interested students should get information from www.cslf.com.

NetAid Global Action Awards — High school students across the nation who have organized and led a project that has directly impacted people in poor countries or raised awareness in their own communities about global poverty may apply for a global action scholarship award of up to $5,000. Information is available through www.netaid.org. The deadline is May 15.

Newtown High School Student Government 2005 Scholarship — Graduating seniors from Newtown High School who have demonstrated leadership and scholarship and have a cumulative average of 85 or above may apply for this $500 scholarship award. Applications are available in the Career Center and must be given to Mr Hiruo in the AP office by Monday, May 10.
