Critic Of Art At Next SCAN Meeting
The Society of Creative Arts of Newtown will present an individual critique of membersâ artwork by Marija Pavlovich McCarthy at its next meeting Wednesday, May 11, at 7:30 pm. Admission is free, and non-members are welcome.
This meeting will be held in the lower meeting room at Newtown Meeting House (lower level), 31 Main Street. Â
A Connecticut painter and educator in all mediums, Ms McCarthy has been popular for her insightful critique sessions at past SCAN meeting
The Woodbury resident has been active on the local art scene since moving here eight years ago. She has exhibited her paintings in one-person shows for Washington Art Association, Minor Memorial Library in Roxbury, Woodbury Antiques and Fine Arts, and in numerous local and national group exhibits, including at New Britain Museum of Art.
She is a signature member of the New England Watercolor Society, Copley Society of Boston, Connecticut Watercolor Society, and The Paint and Clay Club in New Haven.
She has taught landscape painting for Washington Art Association since 1997.
Prior to moving here, Ms McCarthy lived in Washington, D.C., and abroad, where she was continuously engaged in painting and teaching.
