Aldrich Museum Is Throwing A Gala In The Garden
RIDGEFIELD â The Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum will unveil The Cornish Family Sculpture Garden at âGala in the Gardenâ on Saturday, May 21, at 7 pm.
âGala in the Gardenâ will be the first public opening of the museumâs Cornish Family Sculpture Garden, endowed as a part of the museumâs recent $9 million renovation and expansion project. The single largest single fundraiser for The Aldrich, the gala will generate funding for the annual operating budget, as well as museum education and cultural programming.
âWe are thr illed to share [this] final piece of our renovation and expansion project with the public,â said Museum Director Harry Philbrick. âOur recent expansion has solidified our reputation as one of the nationâs finest contemporary art museums and our commitment to the exhibition of cutting-edge art.â
The museum will be honoring A. Peter Sallick, CEO and President of Waterworks, and Kathleen OâGrady, former chairperson of The Aldrich Board of Trustees, as this yearâs recipients of the annual Larry Award, given to distinguished individuals for their service to and impact on the arts. Fine food, live entertainment, dancing and the museumâs summer exhibitions including âContemporary Erotic Drawing,â will provide the dramatic backdrop for the event.
âGala in the Gardenâ will feature a special cocktail reception beginning at 6:30 pm to honor sponsors and the eveningâs honorees, followed by dinner in the museumâs Garden, and music and dancing into the wee hours.
