Boot Camp Can Kick-Start

A Healthy Routine

Newtown-based trainer Cody Foss of The Fitness Loft is ramping up a program of healthy activities aimed at local families and young people that he will be continuing through the summer as part of the Parks and Recreation Department’s offerings.

The first of these activities, an inaugural outdoor Boot Camp, premiers Wednesday, May 16, at 6 pm. The program is part of his health club curriculum for members, but Mr Foss is also inviting members of the community to the five-session workout program for a prepaid fee of $15 per session.

Participants are asked to meet in the parking lot of the security building at Fairfield Hills at 5:45 pm May 16 for the one-hour, outdoor session. The program continues weekly through June 13, weather permitting.

Additional Parks and Rec fitness and health programs led by Mr Foss will be formalized in the coming weeks. Besides the nonmember fee, the only requirements for participation according to Mr Foss, are “a bottle of water, lots of energy and an open mind!”

Anyone interested in participating in the inaugural Boot Camp can register at the Fitness Loft, 3 Simm Lane adjacent to the Newtown Car Wash, or by calling 304-1400.
