New Milford Hospital Schedules Two-Â Â Part Menopause Program
NEW MILFORD â A two-part discussion on menopause will take place at New Milford Hospital on Wednesday, May 17, and Wednesday, May 24.
âMenopause Part 1 Hormone Replacement Therapy â Is it For You?â will be presented Wednesday, May 17, at 6:45 pm. Gynecologist Carol Papov, MD, will provide a comprehensive discussion on the risks and benefits of HRT. She will discuss recent data and studies that have introduced new methods of dosage.
Dr Papov, a member of the New Milford Hospital medical staff, is a graduate of Boston University, School of Medicine, and completed her postgraduate studies at the University of Connecticut Health Center, School of Medicine. She has offices located in New Milford and Brookfield.
âMenopause Part 2 Menopausal Health and Alternative Therapiesâ will be held Wednesday, May 24, at 6:45 pm. Gynecologist Amina Ahmed, MD, will discuss the risks women face throughout the menopausal cycle such as heart disease and loss of bone density. She will also provide information on some alternative therapies to HRT such as wild yam, soy, and estrogenic herbs.
Dr Ahmed is also a member of the New Milford Hospital medical staff and a graduate of Grant Medical College. She completed her postgraduate studies at the Childrenâs Hospital of Michigan and Sinai Hospital of Detroit. She is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology. Her office is located in New Milford.
