Newtown High School’s girls’ lacrosse team bounced back from a 19-8 loss to visiting Ridgefield on April 25 with an 18-6 victory at Pomperaug of Southbury on April 30.

In the win over Pomperaug, Summer Harrell scored seven goals and had two assists; Jules Battaglia logged four goals and two assists; Jen Socci recorded two goals and a trio of assists; Brooke Bulkley had two goals and an assist; Ava Mitchell scored twice; Nikki Kaplan had a goal and one assist; and Natalie McLean added an assist. Goaltender Alexa Manfredonia made six saves.

The Nighthawks will host Stratford-Bunnell Friday, May 3 at 6:30 pm.
