Frank J. Allen, a longtime resident of Newtown, died March 25. Mr Allen was born in December of 1942.

After graduating from Roger Ludlow High School in Fairfield, he enlisted in the United States Navy out of Norfolk, Va., and served on the USS Lindenwald (LSD-6). After four years of service, he transferred to the Naval Reserves.

He worked as a senior engineer for Pitney Bowes for many years. He held a patent for a motor, and was very active in building and flying model airplanes for which he won awards.

His sister, Mildred; brother-in-law, Richard; a niece and nephew; two grandnieces; and several cousins mourn his passing. Mr Allen was predeceased by his parents, James J.  and Mildred Allen.

 Funeral services and burial with full military honors will be private.
