Pancake Day A Success
To The Editor,
On behalf of the Masons of Hiram Lodge No. 18, the Knights of Columbus, Virgilius Council No. 185, the Newtown Police Union, and the Sandy Hook Fire Department, I would like to thank the following individuals, organizations, and businesses for their generous contributions that helped to make the recent Pancake Day such a success:
Ed and Julie Pressmar, John Verbanic, Dick and Marie Sturdevant, John and Doreen Cash, Lindell Hertberg, Bob Tendler, the Mazurs, Virgilius Council No. 185 Knights of Columbus, the Hiram No. 18 Fellowcraft Association, the Newtown Police Union, the Sandy Hook Fire Department, Amaral Motors, Newtown Exxon, Newtown Federal Credit Union, Grand Union, Stop & Shop, Newtown Saving Bank, Hilarios, Starbucks Coffee, Dunkinâ Donuts, Big Y, Leoâs Restaurant, Marcus Dairy, Newtown Oil, the Sandy Hook Deli, Sodexho Marriott Food Service, Ashlar of Newtown, and the literally hundreds of others who attended and donated to this effort.
Because of this tremendous outpouring of love and support, we were able to raise nearly $4,000, which will be given to the families of Greg Chion and Thomas Ward.
I would like to give a special thank you to George Mattegat. He was the chairman of this event and is personally responsible for its success.
