Juniors To Attend Spring Conference

The Newtown Junior Women’s Club will be represented by Susan Rahmlow, Monika Kurrle-Taylor, Karen Udiskey, Maryann Ziman, and Anne Rosa at the Connecticut Junior Women’s Inc. (CJW) Spring Conference on May 5 and 6. The conference will take place at the Southbury Hilton and will be attended by 60+ member clubs. The agenda for the meetings are Board of Officers 2000-2002 elections, statewide arts and crafts competition, and club recognition awards for community service and fundraising. The state project undertaken by many CJW clubs these past two years has been to provide nature training for inner-city schoolteachers via Roaring Brook Nature Center. The Newtown Juniors provided nature boxes, touch and feel cans, handmade animal puppets, and a $750 donation towards this project.
