The Western Connecticut Regional Mako boysâ swim team won first place at the YMCA New England Championships, recently. The girls/boys combined team placed third at the meet which was held at Harvard Universityâs Blodgett Pool. The eight-and-under team, which includes Newtownâs Dawson Stout, 9, and Tommy Horan, 8, were key performers in the win. Stout placed first out of 24 qualifiers in the 25 yard butterfly event and anchored the winning medley relay. Stout also contributed to the boysâ free relay victory and placed 8th in the 100 IM.
