Beloved Uncle And Friend
Roch-Josef di Lisio, 75, died April 28 in Danbury Hospital following a brain aneurysm. He was born on January 11, 1933, in Ansonia to Rocco and Mary di Lisio. He was a resident of Newtown for 45 years.
Holding a masterâs degree in library science from Simmons College, he worked at the Sterling Memorial Library of Yale University and at Sacred Heart University Library. He also taught history of architecture at Sacred Heart.
His ardent passion for literature and fine arts began with extensive studies in Europe and continued throughout his life. His artistic talent found expression in his favorite pursuits at home â landscaping and interior design.
He is survived by many nieces and nephews, and longtime friend Harold Hammond.
A memorial service is scheduled for Friday, May 2, at 10 am, at the Spinelli-Malerba-Ricciuti Funeral Home, 62 Beaver Street, Ansonia. Interment will follow in Mount Saint Peterâs Cemetery, Derby.
