Pencil Point Sculpture At Easton Public Library
Pencil Point Sculpture At Easton Public Library
EASTON â Dalton M. Ghetti is a carpenter with a very unusual hobby: pencil point carving.
Mr Ghetti carves very intricate and miniscule pieces of art on the actual graphite of pencil tips. Holding the pencil in his hands, using only a sewing needle and a razor blade, and without the use of a magnifying glass or power tools, Mr Ghetti creates miniature marvels. Understandably, some of Mr Ghettiâs work has taken him months, sometimes years, to complete.
An exhibit of Mr Ghettiâs sculptures is on display at Easton Public Library, 691 Morehouse Road, through May 7.
Mr Ghetti was born and raised in Brazil and came to the United States in 1985. He currently lives in Bridgeport.
Easton Public Library, at the corner of Center Street and Morehouse Road, is open Monday and Friday from 10 am to 5 pm, Tuesday and Wednesday from 10 am to 8 pm, Thursday from 10 am to 6 pm, and Saturday from 10 am to 3 pm. Call 261-0134 for additional information.
