Rotary Honors Middle School Students
Alex Hennessey (cluster 8-C) and Carra Buckley (cluster 7-B) were honored by the Newtown Rotary and were presented with a Personal Achievement Award by Rotary President Bill Wheels. Rotarian Tony Salvatore, Reed Intermediate School assistant principal, introduced them.
Alex Hennessey, the son of Robert and Karen Hennessey and who has two younger brothers, is an honor roll student. His teachers describe Alex as a solid, consistent student whose learning style expands a wide scope of material. He brings a diversity of knowledge and a willingness to excel. He played the lead role of Charlie Brown in the school play Snoopy, is a student council representative, a Discovery student since grade four, and has created unique projects.
Alex has many hobbies including playing Park and Rec baseball, reading, writing, acting and playing the piano, which he began at age six.
Looking forward to the future, Alex would like to pursue a career in the medical field, perhaps in the emergency room, or perhaps become an author. Alex demonstrates an excellent attitude towards learning and is well received by peers and adults. Cluster 8-C teachers Mrs Connolly, Mrs Cavallaro, Mr Girard, and Mr Shupenis proudly selected Alex for this Personal Achievement Award.
Carra Buckley is focused on learning and competes every task on time. Her teachers state, âCarra has the attitude of a mature adult towards a specific career.â She treats her classmates as colleagues as well as friends. Her pleasant cooperation makes any classroom she is in a better place. Her outlook is positive and her actions responsible. Any setback is an opportunity to learn from it. Any success strengthens her determination to do well.
Carra is an honor roll student who resides with her proud parents Mark and Denise Buckley and twin younger siblings. She likes all her school subjects equally and is a member of the color guard, her expertise being flags and sabers. She also loves the computer.
In the future Carra would like to become an elementary school teacher, possibly teaching the second grade. Her teachers in cluster 7-B Mrs Keating, Mrs Catanese, Mr DeBenedetto, and Mrs Simone congratulate such a fine citizen.
