Look Good, Feel Better

DANBURY –– The American Cancer Society will conduct a free “Look Good, Feel Better” workshop at the hospital on Monday, May 12, at the Praxair Cancer Center conference room at Danbury Hospital from 10 am to noon.

The monthly workshops focus on teaching female cancer patients beauty techniques to help restore their appearance and self-image during chemotherapy and radiation treatments.

Trained volunteer beauty experts from the community lead small groups through practical, hands-on experience regarding makeup techniques, skincare, nail care, and options related to hair loss such as wigs, turbans, and scarves. Each program participant receives a free kit of cosmetics for use during and after the workshops.

The workshops will be held on June 16, July 14, August 11, September 8, October 20, and December 8.

All “Look Good, Feel Better” workshops take place from 10 am to noon in the conference located on the first floor of the Stroock Building, Hospital Avenue entrance.

For more information about the co-sponsored program, call Joanne Ballerini at 797-7771. For information regarding other cancer education programs held at Danbury Hospital visit the Hospital’s website, www.danburyhospital.org and click on “Cancer Care,” or call Ms Ballerini.
