In Appreciation Of Teachers

To the Editor:

May 5–9 is National Teacher Appreciation Week. We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the teachers of Newtown for the work that they do. This dedicated staff shows their commitment to the children they teach through the long hours they work, their willingness to go beyond normal expectations to support and accommodate children who need extra help, and the love, laughter, and learning that we observe in classrooms. These highly competent professionals constantly work collaboratively to become even better at teaching. We are grateful to have such superb teachers.

It is energizing to teachers to hear from students of the past. We invite all of you to take a moment to write a note of thanks to your favorite teacher as a tribute to his/her work.
