In the wake of losing a large portion of its offense, things have not gone particularly well for the Newtown High School girls’ lacrosse team early in the 2003 season. Losses to Conard of West Hartford (22-1), Cheshire (17-3), New Fairfield (8-6) and Joel Barlow (14-6) have dropped the Lady Nighthawks to 0-4 overall, 0-2 in the South-West Conference.

Despite a three-goal effort by Kelly Collier on Tuesday afternoon, the ‘Hawks were unable to hold the Lady Falcons off. Megan Regnery scored a pair of goals and Robin Pacheco added another for the ‘Hawks while Kate Fenton provided an assist.

Jenny Urfer made six saves in the cage.

The ‘Hawks were set to travel to New Milford on Thursday and will host Notre Dame on Tuesday, May 6. Next week, on Thursday, May 8, the ‘Hawks will host Brookfield under the lights at Blue & Gold Stadium.
