NEW MILFORD â âPelvic Awareness â How to Take Control of Your Bladder,â a community health forum sponsored by the New Milford Hospital medical staff, will take place at the hospitalâs Robinson Conference Rooms on Wednesday, May 10, at 6:45 pm. Urologist Stephen Yu, MD, is the guest speaker.
Urinary incontinence is more common in females and generally occurs in earlier stages of life than with males. It is reported that in the United States 50 million women have some form of incontinence.
Dr Yu will explain how the pelvic floor and bladder muscles work and provide six simple steps women can follow to improve their health and function. This discussion will cover diet, exercise, and behavioral techniques designed to regain control of bladder functions.
