Don't Believe 'Bee' Editorials Or Letters
Donât Believe âBeeâ
Editorials Or Letters
To the Editor:
This is an invitation to get the facts straight. The voters of Newtown will have an opportunity to vote on some major projects sometime in June. Much, if not most, of the information readily available to the public comes from stories in The Bee. For the most part, those stories have been factual and impartial.
I would like to urge all readers of any newspaper to be especially vigilant of statements made in both the âLetters to the Editor,â as well as the editorials themselves. In both cases, the âfactsâ are usually obtained second hand, and all too often are skewed or blatantly erroneous.
I urge you to put little stock in these sources. It is one thing to write an opinion, but another to write misinformation. The latter abounds in The Beeâs editorials and in its âLetters to the Editor.â If you want facts about what the Legislative Council is doing, call your representatives (I have the phone numbers) or call me, Pierre Rochman, chairman (426-5922 or 792-6865).
