Walking To Cure AutismÂ
Walking To
Cure Autism
Â
Newtown resident Carrie Cabral is organizing a coalition team to attend the third annual Walk FAR For NAAR event held by the National Alliance for Autism Research at Manhattanville College, in Purchase, N.Y., on June 6.
âMoney raised will help fund research efforts and bring us closer to finding a cure for this devastating disease,â Mrs Cabral said. âMore than 80 percent of the money raised goes directly to research and in the past NAAR has been able to multiply the total raised by eight by getting matching funds and grants.â
All proceeds from the event will benefit NAAR, whose primary mission is to fund and accelerate biomedical research that seeks to find the causes, prevention, treatment, and a cure for autism.
Mrs Cabral is encouraging everyone who is interested to call her at 270-7583 as she is signing up walkers and collecting pledges.
More information also is available on the website www.naar.org or by calling NAAR at 888-777-NAAR or emailing autismwalk@naar.org. Donations also may be sent to NAAR at 99 Wall Street, Research Park, Princeton NJ 08540.
