Robert J. Kluge
Robert J. Kluge of Parmalee Hill Road died April 24 in the Bethel Health Care Center. Mr Kluge was the husband of Elinor (Burke) Kluge. Mr and Mrs Kluge recently celebrated their 35th wedding anniversary.
Mr Kluge was born in Ozone Park, N.Y., a son of the late Ernest and Edna Kluge. He was a graduate of Central High School, Class of 1947, in Valley Stream, Long Island, N.Y. While living on Long Island he was employed by Republic Aircraft Corporation as a flight line inspector.
After moving to Connecticut, he was the maintenance supervisor at Hubbell Plastics Division in Newtown for many years, and after he retired, he was the service manager at Amaral Motors for three years.
Bob enjoyed attending NASCAR races, and as a young man he was the mechanic for a stock car team that raced at tracks on the East Coast. He also enjoyed gardening and classical music. Most of all he loved his family, his home, and his Jack Russell terrier, Paddy.
A special note of appreciation to the staff at Bethel Health Care Center, their professional abilities, their help and concern for all of us who remain, and who brought a whole new meaning to the words, âSkilled Nursing Care.â
