How has your ethnic heritage influenced your everyday life?

Kevin Troy: “I’m Irish and predominantly Italian. We have a lot of Italian dishes in my house, especially pasta. My favorite dish is lasagna!”

Brian Kirk: “While I am mostly Lithuanian, I don’t know a lot about my background in terms of foods or culture. But I’m also a little bit Irish, which ties in to St. Patrick’s Day and other [cultural] traditions. Scones are popular in my house!”

Ryan Drummond: “I’m mostly Irish. My family is a big fan of corn beef and cabbage, especially on St Patrick’s Day!”

Ashley Braun: “I am largely German. We eat some German foods, like bratwurst and potato pancakes.”

Patricia Culligan: “I’m 100 percent Irish! Everyone in my family are big Notre Dame fans, several of us have attended [the college]. We have a lot of stews and corn beef, too, especially around St Patrick’s Day!”

Katie Power: “I am Irish and German. I remember seeing a Celtic cross once with Irish names written onto it. Included was my name, ‘Power.’ I thought that was pretty cool.”
