Helping Children Become Better Learners
Assistant Superintendent of Schools Alice Jackson recently presented her report, âUsing Brain Research to Help Young Children Learn,â during the annual districtwide Preschool/ Kindergarten Meeting at Trinity Day School.
Ms Jackson emphasized the various approaches classroom teachers can use to help young children become effective learners. Preschool and kindergarten teachers, administrators, reading specialists and librariansâ left Ms Jacksonâs presentation, they said, with easily applicable, practical information that could easily be used in the classroom.
The preschool/kindergarten alliance has a core committee that focuses on curriculum sharing and orientation procedures. The committeeâs goal is to communicate among educators and ease the transition for students from preschool to kindergarten.
