REDDING â Cindy Palmer Dean has been around horses all her life while training, trail riding, hunter pacing and competing.
Now she wants to get in touch with other people in the community â moms with horses (hence the name of her new organization, Moms With Horses) â who would like to get together.
âMy children are growing up and I finally have more time to spend with my horses,â she said. âI know we all have a different story: some of us stopped riding when we had kids and now want to buy a horse and start riding again; some or us have young children or are pregnant and need help around the barn; some of us have young horses and need help training them; some of us have kids in college and need experienced riders to keep our horses fit; some of us have ponies we canât part with, but our children have outgrown them, and need new children to love and ride them; some of us used to compete a lot and would like to ride and train our horses, but in a less competitive environment; and some of us are just looking for another mom to ride with.â
The first riding clinic will be held May 26 through May 29 at Ms Deanâs barn in Redding. She hopes to schedule clinics on a monthly basis at either her barn or other barns. Call her at 938-9610 to get the ball rolling.
