Marion D.       Hibbard
Marion D. Hibbard of Urbana, Ill., died at home on April 9. She had lived on Main Street, Newtown, from 1943 until retiring to Sun City, Ariz., in 1975.
Mrs Hibbard was born September 14, 1913, in Massachusetts, attended high school in Melrose, Mass., and then received a diploma from the Boston School of Occupational Therapy. She worked at Perkins School for the Blind in Watertown, Mass., before her marriage to Richard D. Hibbard in 1941.
In Newtown, she assisted her husband at The Flagpole Fountain (Smoke Shop), located on Main Street and then Church Hill Road. Mrs Hibbard was a stalwart of The Town Players for more than three decades, and active in Newtown Congregational Church.
Her husband predeceased her in 1987. She is survived by her daughters, Caroline Hibbard of Urbana, Ill, with whom she came to live in 2004, and Ruth Ashley Hibbard of Albany, N.Y.
