Kids On Campus

WATERBURY — The Kids on Campus summer learning program at Naugatuck Valley Community College is offering 30 percent more courses this year, responding to parents’ requests that the popular program expand its curriculum.  Kids on Campus runs from August 1-12 and registration is now open.

The new offerings include courses on sculpturing with clay, artwork outdoors, computer graphic design, singing, hiking, using science to turn ideas into inventions, and even an in-depth look at J.R.R. Tolkien’s trilogy Lord of the Rings. This summer’s lineup also features a host of old favorites in subjects like acting, sign language, cooking, dance, photography, chemistry, biology and fitness.

Each course costs $229, plus activity fees where applicable.Courses are filled on a first-come, first-served basis — and some fill up before the June 17 deadline. The catalog is available online at www.nvcc.commnet.edu and can be found by using the search engine to search for “Kids.”
