Boys U8

Tigers 4, Werewolves 1 – Wesley Morlock, Austen Raftery, Connor Gallagher and Jonathan Schwartz each scored to lead the Tigers to victory. Matt Hess tallied the lone goal for the Werewolves while Matthew Wood played well in goal. Zachary Weiland and Carter Nordman had good all around games.

Gators 6, Wolverines 1 – Brenton Scott scored three goals to power the Gators and Zachary Pollock booted in two goals. Patrick Burger chipped in a goal. Michael Cloonan played outstanding defense. For the Wolverines, Adam Hufziger scored the goal as Michael Alicea played great on offense and Kyle Watkins was solid on defense.

Wizards 1, Dragons 1 – Eric Von Schleusingen of the Wizards and Doug Miller of the Dragons scored the goals in this 1-1 deadlock. Patrick Afriyie played strong D and Nick Klein was solid goal for the Wizards while Trevor Connolly and Nick Barrows played well for the Dragons.

Tremendous Tigers 6, Goldenhawks 1 – Phillip Healy, Calvin Witteveen, Jonah Muniz, Robert Lindin and Kaj Djonne all scored to lead the Tigers to the win. For the ‘Hawks, Matthew Janco scored and played well in the net while Thomas Meier and John Carlson had strong performances.

Girls U14

Pink Ladies 2, Rapids 1 – Alyssa Carey and Kaley Kruger both scored to lead the Ladies to the win. Kyra Smith had a great game in goal as Emily Rowe and Michelle Heitz played well on defense. For the Rapids, Kaitlin Marsden scored while Samantha Whitley had a strong game in goal. Jillian Thompson sparked the offense and Audra Sama excelled on defense.

Girls U10

Flash 0, Brookfield 0 – Morgan Kirol, Tressa Scott and Julia Trudell anchored a tough defense for the Flash in the 2005 season opener. Brittany Tolla, Melissa Buccino, Samantha Salvatore and Christina Gould all had terrific shots on goal. Kristen Grabowski and Bridget Powers shared time in goal and made some crucial stops to preserve the shutout.

Boys U11

Southbury 5, Crusaders 2 – Hank Helgren and Ryan Dunnigan each scored goals with offensive support from Andre Capozziello and Sean Burson, but the Crusaders fell shot. Dan Gallagher and Josh Barrett were tough on defense and Greg Campbell was solid in the net.

Boys U12

Strikers 8, New Fairfield 1 – Michael Carrafiello scored four goals and Eric Thornberg added two as the Strikers routed New Fairfield. Kyle Moore and Ishan Tatake added one goal apiece. Nicolas Wright controlled the midfield. Daniel Hufziger, Alex Miller and Kyle Wildman all played well.

Boys U13

Newtown 4, Watertown 0 – Benjamin Miles, Daniel Greenwood, Eric Keogler and Kyle Kromberg all scored to lead Newtown past Watertown. Chris McCann and Danny Clement provided a lot of support on offense.

Girls U14

New Milford 3, Hurricanes 1 – The Hurricanes got off to a good start in the 2005 season, scoring first off a cross from Emily Weber to Kelley Sullivan … but a penalty kick and a bad bounce doomed the Hurricanes despite strong defensive efforts from Adelle Cerreta, Natalie Villa, Cara Colacurcio and goalie Cassie David.
