Helen E.      Huniyack

Helen E. Huniyack, 81, the wife of Walter Huniyack of Sandy Hook, died on April 21 at Bridgeport Hospital.

She was born in Scranton, Penn., on February 28, 1924, daughter of the late Nicholas and Anna (Zyko) Hatala. She lived in Sandy Hook for several years.

She was employed by the Remington Rand Co. in Bridgeport.

In addition to her husband, Mrs Huniyak is survived by one daughter, Marianne Huniyack of Sandy Hook; one niece, Judith Stevens; and one great-nephew, Russell Stevens, both of Scranton, Penn.

Funeral services were held April 25 at the Honan Funeral Home in Newtown, with the Rev Steve Masiuk of St Mary’s Ukrainian Church, Bridgeport, officiating.

Interment was at St Rose Cemetery in Sandy Hook.
