NAACP General Counsel To Discuss Future Of

Civil Rights At UNH

WEST HAVEN — Victor Bolden, general counsel of the NAACP Legal Defense & Education Fund, will be speaking at the University of New Haven on “The Civil Rights Movement: Where Do We Go From Here?” The event, sponsored by the UNH Legal Society, Black Student Union, and the Legal Studies Program, will take place on Wednesday, May 3, at 6 pm, in Bartels Hall on the UNH campus.

Mr Bolden is a graduate of Harvard Law School, where he received the Irving Oberman Memorial Award, and Columbia College, where he was a John Lewis Scholar and received the Milch Prize and the Brod Room Prize. At the NAACP he coordinates the organization’s affirmative action agenda, among other things.

Prior to becoming the general counsel for the NAACP Legal Defense & Education Fund, Mr Bolden was counsel with the law firm of Wiggin and Dana LLP in New Haven. He represented clients in a wide variety of complex civil litigation matters, including cases involving legislative reapportionment and affirmative action.
