May Friendship Day Bible Study

Church Women United will hold a bible study at Newtown United Methodist Church on Friday, May 5, from 9:30 am until 12:30 pm.

The study will be based on Matthew 21:18-22: Jesus cursed the unfruitful fig tree and it withered.

Program leader Linda Manganaro will ask participants to consider whether we are allowing unfruitful circumstances to interfere with nourishing our spiritual life or are we drawing on resources to produce fruits desired by Christ.

Participants should bring a bible and bag lunch. Coffee and dessert will be provided.

This program is being organized in conjunction with CWU’s upcoming May Friendship Day, which will be celebrated in Newtown this year on Saturday, May 20. That worship service, open to men and women of all faiths, will also be presented at Newtown United Methodist Church.

For information about Friendship Day contact CWU/Newtown-Bethel president Darlene Jackson at 426-5192.

For additional information or to register for the May 5 Bible study, contact Mrs Manganaro at 426-3496. Newtown United Methodist Church is at 92 Church Hill Road in Sandy Hook.
