Henry Abbott Tech To Host Community Book Fair

DANBURY — Henry Abbott Technical High School, on Hayestown Avenue, will host a community book fair from Tuesday, May 2, through Thursday, May 4, from 7:30 am to 4 pm daily. The book fair is sponsored by Scholastic Book Company and will feature new books at 50 percent or more off the cover price.

The school will be donating all of the proceeds in the form of books to both local and out of state recipients. Locally, the donated books will be distributed through the Department of Child and Family Services. Other donations of books will be sent to the Cheyenne River Reservation in South Dakota and to a school affected by Hurricane Katrina.

Seventh graders from area towns will be invited to attend the community book fair and see the trade and technology programs in operation at the school. A major construction and renovation project is underway to expand and renovate Henry Abbott Technical High School. The first phase of the project, a new shop wing, is under construction. Prospective students can expect to graduate from a state-of-the-art facility.
