DUI Warrant

After learning that police held a warrant for his arrest, Theodore Stoica, 35, of Monroe turned himself over to them at the police station on April 26, and was charged with driving under the influence and with reckless driving in connection with a motor vehicle accident in January.

Police have said that on the night of January 8, Stoica was driving a 2005 Dodge Ram pickup truck southward on South Main Street, when the truck struck a tree at 277 South Main Street. Stoica was then transported to Danbury Hospital to be treated for injuries, police have said.

After posting $3,500 bail, police released Stoica for a May 10 court appearance.

MV Charges

On April 26, police charged motorist Chris Lewis, 21, of 34 Saw Mill Road with improper use of a marker plate, driving an unregistered vehicle, and driving without automotive insurance, police said. Police released Lewis on a promise to appear in court on May 11.

Two Charges

Police said on April 26 they charged Douglas Raigosa, 37, of 6 Lakeview Terrace with risk of injury to a minor and with driving with a passenger outside of a vehicle. Details on the incident were not available from police on the morning of April 27. Police released Raigosa on a promise to appear May 10 in Danbury Superior Court.
