Preparations are being made for The Garden Club of Newtown Plant Sale, scheduled for Saturday, May 4, from 9 am to noon. The sale will be presented on the front lawn of C.H. Booth Library, 25 Main Street.

In case of rain, the sale will be held in the Gathering Room, just inside the main entrance.

Garden enthusiasts will be offered a diversity of plants, from seedling herbs and veggies, annuals and perennials, small shrubs, house plants, terrariums, dish gardens, floral arrangements and more.

Proceeds will be used to purchase raised beds, seeds and seedlings for the Victory Garden.

These raised beds are expected to discourage garden pests and to maximize plant vigor and yield.

Fresh, organic herbs and vegetables produced will benefit neighbors in need through FAITH Food Pantry, Nunnawauk Meadows retirement community, Hospitality Hall at Newtown Congregational Church, and Newtown Senior Center.
