Occupation: I have been a residential mortgage banker at Newtown Savings Bank for the past five years. It's a great company that has stayed true to its roots for over 160 years and has a family-type feel. My favorite part of the job is playing a role in helping people achieve their goal of purchasing their dream home. A couple years back I helped start the Newtown Young Professionals. NYP is a networking group which provides career-minded individuals opportunities to connect both socially and professionally. We give back by volunteering at REACH Newtown, Meals On Wheels, etc.

Family: My wife Claire and I have been married for almost two years. She has been a RN at Yale New Haven Hospital for eight years. Just over two months ago, we welcomed our beautiful daughter, Quinn. It's been a surreal experience to watch her learn to smile and grow in such a short period of time. My brother, Brendan, is married and lives in Watertown. My parents have lived in Newtown for 32 years.

Pets: Willie is our 120-pound Newfoundland-Lab mix - that may also be part black bear. He loves the beach and is an incredibly happy guy. Willie has been excellent with Quinn and turned 6 years old this past St Patrick's Day.

How long did you live in Newtown? We moved to Milford four years ago, but I grew up here. I went through the school system and attended St Rose and Newtown High. It's an excellent small town with friendly people. The schools are great and growing up in the countryside drives you to play outside.

What do you like to do in your free time? I enjoy catching live music, golfing, and taking trips when possible. Free time is usually spent with friends and family. We spend a lot of time by the water.

Lately, we've been into a lot of Dr Seuss books.

Do you have a favorite book or author? Green Eggs and Ham is the current favorite.

What is your favorite travel destination? Australia. I did a semester abroad during college and will definitely go back.

Besides the General Store's sandwiches and the [Holy Cow] Ice Cream Shop, I have to go with the people. The town is filled with good, hardworking citizens who genuinely care about each other and want to make a positive impact in our community and beyond.

What is the best part about Newtown?

Who has been the greatest influence in your life? I've been pretty blessed with a large Irish family that knows how to have a good time and is full of great role models. My parents especially personify this. Their time is constantly spent volunteering and putting others first.

Either of my late uncles. They were incredibly fun guys who were taken too soon. That'd be one heck of a day.

If you could spend the day with one person, who would you choose and why?

Who is your favorite musical artist? Stevie Wonder. I love all the old stuff like The Temptations and Eric Clapton.

I'm an avid sports fan. Depending on the season, I'll watch the Mets, Giants, and UConn basketball. At UConn, I was fortunate enough to dress as the Husky mascot all four years for the football and basketball games.

Do you have a favorite TV show?

What is your favorite movie? Jaws.

Sean Reilly is this week's Snapshot profile.

What is the greatest piece of advice you have ever been given? Work hard, take chances, and enjoy the ride.
