Finding Faith During Illness

SOUTHBURY — Brownstein Jewish Family Service will offer a special program on Sunday, May 6, at 10 am, in the media center at Rochambeau Middle School, on Peter Road. “Blessings from a Curse,” a talk by author Louise Feldman, will focus on how serious illness can be devastating or it can be an opportunity to discover the blessings on one’s life.

Louise Feldman is a breast cancer survivor, writer and Jewish educator. She will share excerpts from her book-in-progress, Blessings from a Curse, about her remarkable spiritual journey during cancer treatment. She will also speak about her miraculous recovery form cancer recurrence and her bold pursuit of non-conventional healing practices.

Mrs Feldman lives with her husband and teenage son in Canton. She teaches at Yachad Hebrew High School in West Hartford and leads Torah Treks, outdoor programs with a Jewish twist.

The public is invited to attend this very moving program. There is no charge. For more information, call Debby Horowitz at Jewish Communities of Western Connecticut at 203-263-5121, extension 304.
