The Junior Newtown Action Alliance (Jr NAA) announced it plans to host a protest on Saturday, May 5, from 3 pm to 4:30 pm, at the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF), 11 Mile Hill Road, while the National Rifle Association (NRA) is holding its annual meeting in Dallas, Texas, from May 3 to 6.facebook.com/events/132752564246435.

"Congress has failed to take meaningful action to end gun violence after the tragic shootings at Columbine, Sandy Hook, Parkland, and many other communities," reads an April 25 press release from Jr NAA. "The number of mass shooting incidents and gun deaths are increasing and too many local, state, and federal lawmakers refuse to take action due of gun lobby's money and influence."

According to the release, Jr NAA supports the online #NoRA initiative to counteract the influence of NRA money on American politics. The #NoRA campaign is supported by actress Alyssa Milano, other celebrities, activists, survivors, and other organizations including Newtown Action Alliance. The Jr NAA will also support the #NoNRAMoney campaign to ask elected officials and candidates to make the #NoNRAMoney pledge.

Co-chair of Jr NAA Tommy Murray will be joining the StudentsMarch.Org students at a #Rally4Reform protest in Dallas while fellow co-chair of Jr NAA, Jackson Mittleman, will lead the NRA/NSSF Student Protest at the NSSF headquarters in Newtown. Students, teachers, parents, and community members from Newtown and beyond are invited to attend, according to the release. People expecting to attend are asked to RSVP on the Facebook event page,
