*Saturday, April 27, performances at 2 and 3:15 pm (see details below), Tütenschleider Musical Tale.

When Jocelyn Hotchkiss (the “toot”) and Jackie Harris-Stone (the “slider”) met in March 2012, they realized instantaneously that their flute and bass trombone were a perfect match: the beauty of the flute and the elegance of brass combined to create a unique and flexible tonal palate. Thus, Tütenschleider (“toot and slider”) was born. The Musical Tales incorporate music with classical stories, and add in a healthy dose of interaction with the audience in the form of movement, dance, and drumming.

The two women make their our programs appealing to all generations, so not only do the kids learn how to incorporate music into their play, but performances provide a break and a mood-lift for the adults.

The duo will perform at 2 pm for ages 5-8, and then at 3:15 for ages 2-4.

*On Tuesday, April 30, at 4:30 pm, Riskallah Riyad and Lorelie from CT Dance Oasis of Danbury will return for a Middle Eastern Dance & Rhythm Workshop for Kids.

Parents are welcome, too.

*Saturday, May 4, 4–6 pm, Allegra Dance Studio Performance.

Members and students from the Greenwich-based studio will perform multiple dances and styles including ballet, jazz, tap, modern and hip hop. Suitable for all ages.

*Monday, May 6, 6–7 pm, Weave Your Story.

Sarah Haskell will present “Weave Your Story: A Community Project,” and will lead participants in creating clothespin people, woven into a mandala.

This promised to be an intergenerational evening for all ages.

*Tuesday, May 7, 4:30 pm, Storytelling, Music and Art with Virginia Anderson.

This will be a two-hour interactive storytelling and a creative arts program.

*Thursday, May 9, from 4:30 pm, Follow The Process: Illustrating Books.

Illustrator Paige Miglio will lead a two-hour program, during which time she will share how she uses objects, photos and personal memories to bring books to life. Students will then be encouraged to draw their own illustration.

*Friday, May 10, 7:30 pm, Blue Jupiter performance.

The high energy a capella group Blue Jupiter will present an interactive concert to include Gregorian chanting, barbershop, doo-wop, contemporary, and the group’s own original music.
