Newtown High School’s boys’ golf team got off to a good start by winning its first match, 188-229 over Bethel at the Connecticut Club on April 24. Medalist was James Celentano with a 43. Colin Luby shot 46, Alex Walton 48, Brendan Adams 51, and Jake Mailloux 52.

The Nighthawks beat visiting Joel Barlow of Redding 193-199 at Rock Ridge Country Club on Apri 19. Luby led Newtown with a score of 44, Carter Briggs had a 49, Walton 50, Mallioux 50, and Celentano 51.

Newtown lost to Masuk of Monroe at Whitney Farms, 172-190. Celentano shot a 45, Walton 47, Luby 49, Briggs 49, and Mailloux 49.
