Youth Football Camps / Cheerleading
Newtown Youth Football Camp
Newtownâs Youth Football Camp will be held July 28 through August 1 from 9 am to noon each day. Newtown High School Head Coach Steve George and his staff will run the camp at Hawley school. The camp is dedicated to teaching the players ages 7-13 the fundamental and basic techniques of football. All equipment will be provided except for athletic supporters/cups and cleats. Players will receive camp T-Shirts and a pizza party on the last day. Registration forms are available at www.newtownyouthfootball.org. For information, call Mike McNamara at 203-364-1690. Football And Cheer Registration
Newtown American Youth Football and Cheerleading will hold 2008 season registrations on Saturday, April 26, from 8 am to noon in the Newtown High School cafeteria. The program is open to football players and cheerleaders who will be entering grades 2 through 8 in the fall. Cost is $250 for football players and $155 for cheerleaders (family discounts are offered). Joe Namath/ John Dockery Camp
The Joe Namath/John Dockery Football Camp will be held July 6-11 at Western Connecticut State University in Danbury. The camp is directed by Namath, a member of the NFL Hall of Fame, and Dockery and camp professional instructors will include Super Bowl champion New York Giants players, including David Tyree, and other NFL stars. The camp includes contact and non-contact programs for boys ages 8-18. For information, visit www.joenamathcamp.com.
