Learning To âWork In Natureâs Gardenâ With Guest Speaker
Residents, gardeners and conservation officials are invited to Newtown Forest Associationâs annual meeting, which will include a special presentation, âWorking In Natureâs Garden,â by landscape architect, educator and author Larry Weaner. The program will begin at 7 pm on Thursday, May 8, at 7 pm, at C.H. Booth Library.
Mr Weaner, the author of What Comes After Preservation, will explore means of managing once private and public land that has been preserved in a manner that is ecologically sound, easily maintained, and aesthetically pleasing. He will also share information about methods and techniques for planting and land management using patterns and processes found in the regionâs native woods, meadows, and wetlands. Call 270-3650 or e-mail admin@newtownforestassociation.org to RSVP.
Published articles by Mr Weaner, âTen Elements of Natural Designâ and âEstablishing Wild Flower Meadows,â will be available to those interested.
NFAâs annual meeting will take place immediately following the presentation. The evening is free of charge, but membership dues and donations will be accepted. Refreshments will be served. Leave a voicemail at the NFA office at 270-3650 or send e-mail to NFATreasurer@yahoo.com for additional information.
