The Garden

The Town and Country Garden Club of Newtown will host a presentation by author and landscape designer Karen Bussolini Wednesday, May 14.

 The program will begin at 7 pm at the senior center, 14 Riverside Road in Sandy Hook. The program will be “Jazzing Up the Garden with Color and Contrast.”

Ms Bussolini co-authored a book with Jo Ann Gardner titled Elegant Silvers: Plants for Every Garden, in which the ladies selected and vividly illustrated the best candidates for a broad range of growing and design needs that will be part of her talk.

She also recently finished photographing a book titled The Homeowners Complete and Tree and Shrub Handbook. Her accomplishments cover gardening and garden design, from containers, espalier, hardscape, and herbs to landscaping, native plants, and topiary.

Ms Bussolini originally trained as a painter and had a career as an architectural photographer before specializing is garden photography, writing and lecturing.
