Homes Needed For Pets At Animal Control

The following dogs and cats are available for adoption from the Newtown pound, which is located at the end of Ethan Allen Road (behind the transfer station):

ASH is a 3-year-old neutered male Dalmation. Ash’s playful and gentle personality makes him an excellent companion with other dogs, cats and children.

BAILEY is a 3-year-old male, neutered black and white English Springer Spaniel. Bailey’s playful nature and unique personality would make an ideal companion for cats, dogs and children.

JESSIE is a 3-year old neutered  male white poodle mix who would be a great companion for other dogs and has a loving personality.

SASH is a 4 1/2-year-old spayed female brindle Terrier mix who would be an excellent companion for children and who has a gentle personality.

CHARLOTTE, a 4-year-old female Hokkaido-terrier mix, has a sweet personality and is friendly with other dogs and people.

Good news: Midnight, a female lab mix; and Timmy, a mixed breed, were both adopted this past week.

If you wish to adopt, please call Newtown Animal Control at 426-6900 or Canine Advocates at 426-5327. Canine Advocates of Newtown, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit volunteer group, raises funds to spay/neuter and provide shots against DHLPP and rabies for all of the Newtown Pound cats and dogs. CAN also provides a free training DVD and Beyond Obedience Dog Training offers one free individual training lesson to adopters. If you cannot adopt but would like to help, please send your donation to Canine Advocates, PO Box 236, Newtown, CT 06470. Visit www.canineadvocates.org or call 426-5327 to volunteer.
