Babe Ruth Softball Highlights

U12

Dr. Beck 13, Carminucios 6: Dr. Beck enjoyed gutsy debut pitching performances by Sarah Hull and Anna Grillo and Juliana Sansonetti knocked in a key run in her first plate appearance. For Carminuccios, Mariah Joy and Emily Nacewicz  had outstanding games both defensively and offensively. Hanna Godbout pitched three strong innings and made a nice flip to the plate to cut down a run.

U14

Designerbodies 8, Rich’s Keys & Locks 6: Rhea Schneider struck out eight batters in three innings of work and also drove in the go-ahead run with a single in the sixth inning to lead Designerbodies in their season-opening win. Trailing by a run in the final inning, Morgan D’Avola’s single drove in Lydia Post with the tying run and Schneider’s hit gave Designerbodies the lead.  Schneider then closed out the victory with relief pitching. D’Avola and Amanda Rowan had two hits each for the winners, Elizabeth Grimes made two great catches in the field, and D’Avola, Nina Midlik and Allie Jones also pitched well. Rich’s Keys & Locks got good pitching performances from Erin Begg, Diana Carozza, Katie Appley, and Jade Mather. Katie Fossum, Megan Duero and Victoria Picerno had big hits and Taylor Demirjian was a defensive standout with several outstanding catches.
