Saturday –– A Day To Paint

 To the Editor:

On Holy Saturday morning, 32 volunteers gathered to help restore a Newtown home as part of the AmeriCares Homefront Program. They applied over 12 gallons of interior paint to ceilings, walls and trim, installed a new sheet vinyl floor, corrected a gray water plumbing issue, raked the lawn, trimmed trees, and insulated the basement. All of this was accomplished in less than four hours. This was the first phase of this project and completion (installation of windows and top-coat painting) is expected on May 3.

 On behalf of the Knights of Columbus, Virgilius Council, #185, we would like to thank these volunteers for donating their time on a busy weekend to make a difference in the lives of this family...  We would also like to express our sincere appreciation to our sponsors and friends for their support of this project: Father Bob Weiss, Mr and Mrs David Baade, Eileen Lambert, Amaral Motors, Newtown Hardware, Herb Rosenthal, Howard Hershel, and Bagelman.
