Olivia (Olive) Gagnon, 87, wife of the late Alfred Gagnon of Nunnawauk Meadows, Newtown, died Wednesday, April 23, in Danbury Hospital.
Mrs Gagnon was born in Dighton, Mass., on December 4, 1915, a daughter of the late Antonio and Mary (Nunes) Garcia. She was a longtime resident of Stratford, where she was employed at the Lord Chamberlain Nursing Home.
One of the first residents of Nunnawauk Meadows, Olive had lived there for 22 years. She was a communicant of St Rose of Lima Church. Olive was an advisor, friend and an inspiration to every. She will be missed.
She is survived by a son, Paul Gagnon and his wife, Judith, of Swansea, Mass.; two daughters, Jeanne Brown and her husband, Stan, of Newtown, and Rita Roy and her husband, Tom, of Bradenton, Fla.; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three sons, Richard, Kenneth, and David Gagnon.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 26, at 8 am from the Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown, and at 8:30 am in St Rose of Lima Church, for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be in Union Cemetery, Stratford.
Friends may call on Friday, April 25, from 6 to 9 pm.
