Laurence W. Schiller, 84, husband of the late Eleanor (Carroll) Schiller of Scudder Road, Newtown, died April 17 in Mediplex of Danbury.
He was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., July 2, 1918, son of the late William and Katherine Schiller. Following his graduation from high school, Mr Schiller attended a technical school, where he learned to be an engineer. For more than 20 years, he was employed by General Electric Company.
He served in the US Navy, both in World War II and the Korean War. He had been a resident of Newtown since 1962.
He is survived by a son, Gerald Schiller of New Bedford, Mass.; and a daughter, Laura MacKay of Newtown. He is also survived by two granddaughters, Renee MacKay of Nantucket, Mass., and Katherine MacKay of Newtown.
Funeral services were held on April 21 at the Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown, and at St Rose of Lima Church for Mass of Christian Burial. Interment was in St Rose Cemetery.
