Girl Scout Sign Up For Troop Placement

On Saturday, May 17, there will be a Girl Scout sign up at the United Methodist Church, 92 Church Hill Road in the meeting room entrance at the back of the church.

Girl Scout levels include: Daisy Girl Scouts for 5–6-year-olds in kindergarten and first grade; Brownie Girl Scouts for 6–8-year-olds in first through third grade; Junior Girl Scouts for 8 11-year-olds in third through sixth grade; Cadette Girl Scouts for 11–14-year-olds in sixth through ninth grade; and Senior Girl Scouts for 14–17- year-olds in ninth through twelfth grade.

New or transferring Girl Scout families should plan to arrive at the time indicated for the school they will be attending in the fall as follows: 10 am — Sandy Hook School and Middle School; 11am — Head O’ Meadow and High School; 2 pm — Hawley School and Newtown Private Schools; and 3 pm — Middle Gate School and Reed Intermediate.

Adult volunteers are needed to make Girl Scouting possible. Anyone that would like to work with girls ages 5–17, can help girls establish their own values, and would like to share their skills and talents, should consider becoming an adult volunteer. Council staff and experienced volunteers will provide training and support that will give adult volunteers new skills and make their work more efficient and effective.
