William J.     Walker, Sr

William J. Walker, Sr, 83, husband of the late Betty (Wilson) Walker of 17 Dogwood Hill Road, Wappinger Falls, N.Y., died April 23 at his home.

He was born in Queens, N.Y., on November 16, 1917, son of the late Henry “Harry” and Elizabeth “Elsie” (Bantelmann) Walker.

Mr Walker, a 40-year resident of Wappinger Falls, N.Y., was a graduate of Brooklyn Polytechnical College. For over 40 years he was employed by IBM as a mechanical engineer in Poughkeepsie, N.Y.

He had a love for flying, and for several years he owned and piloted his own plane. He was a member of the first Congregational Church in Poughkeepsie, N.Y.

He is survived by one son, William J. Walker, Jr; two daughters, Susan McNul and Deborah Ascenzi; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Private funeral services will be held at the Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown, Friday, April 27, at the convenience of the family.

Interment will be in Newtown Village Cemetery.
