Community Offered A Say In Fairfield Hills Development
To the Editor:
As part of the town’s ownership of the Fairfield Hills campus, the Planning and Zoning Commission requires that we review and possibly update the Master Plan of Development for the campus every five years. To that end, last August, the Board of Selectmen appointed the Fairfield Hills Master Plan Review Committee. The Committee is comprised of ten resident volunteers who have been diligently working to incorporate all of the relevant dynamics and potential opportunities for the campus into their proposed version of the Master Plan.
Key to this important effort is taking stock of our community’s views on potential uses of the campus, which include recreation (passive and active), open space, commercial development, and housing. As such, the Committee has put together an extensive survey to collect community input, which is available online at ffhsurvey.com. In addition, hard copies of the survey are also available in the First Selectman’s office, C.H. Booth Library, and the Senior Center. I encourage all of our residents to let their voices be heard by completing the survey as soon as possible. The process takes about ten to 12 minutes, and the survey will be available until May 15th.
My sincere appreciation to the Fairfield Hills Master Plan Review Committee for their hard work and dedication to this project. Also, thank you to all who take the time to complete the survey, which will undoubtedly help to better inform the process.
Best regards,
Dan Rosenthal, First Selectman
