Help Newtown Build A Skate Park
Help Newtown Build A Skate Park
To the Editor:
This past Saturday, two Newtown skateboarders, Evan Garrett and Tim Ciavara, volunteered to sell Donate To Skate T-shirts, soda, and cookies to raise more money for our skateboard park. The day, which started as any other ordinary day other than the weather was beautiful for a change, ended in an amazing way.
We set up a table and signs in the middle of town. The kindness and generosity of the passersby was beyond what we could have imagined. Most residents handed cash out their car windows, and some purchased our merchandise.
We are so thankful not just for the money made that day, which was a grand total of $602 in seven hours, but also for the thoughtfulness behind the act of supporting our Newtown skateboarders. Evan Garrett is also a skateboard design artist that has incredible talent. His Logo is called âBOLTâ skateboards in which he hand paints awesome designs on the back of a board. He sold his board and this meant a lot to him because it validated his work. Throughout the day other Newtown skaterâs joined in the effort to collect donations and by the time I went to pack everything up, all the kids were elated. Thank you to all the residents who gave a donation for our skate park. The money collected will buy a great ramp or rail. Your support and generosity will always be remembered. If anyone else would like to make a donation just go to our website. www.Donatetoskate.com. It can be done through the mail. Go Newtown!
Sincerely,
Lori Capozziello
